Across the country worship leaders, pastors and congregation members seem to be asking similar questions of the way we approach worship in the 21st century: What if our worship made a difference Monday morning? What if it impacted our mission and intercession? How does God's heart for justice affect our worship? How can we use our musical and creative gifts to reach out to our communities? This unique conference will address these questions head on - seeking God for a vision of worship that goes beyond our cosy categories, our familiar songs and our tired models. It is worship on the move, worship that reaches out, worship to transform our congregations, our communities and our world with God's Kingdom power. As God promised through Zephaniah:
"I'll give them a language undistorted, unpolluted,
Words to address God in worship
and, united, to serve me with their shoulders to the wheel.
They'll come from beyond...
they'll come praying-
All my scattered, exiled people
will come home with offerings for worship." (Zeph 3:9-11 MSG)
Prism of Praise 4 - Worship Beyond has a distinctive focus on relating music and worship with mission and outreach, key issues that need to underpin any music ministry. With a new venue, a sharpened focus and the involvement of engageworship.org we are very excited by the potential of this event to make a significant difference to churches and their communities around the country.
An innovative addition to the programme this time is an evening concert in partnership with S. Peter's School, Wolverhampton, modelling Christian engagement with the local community. A small group from the leadership team will work with the school before the event, culminating in a concert with a gospel and jazz flavour, featuring Geraldine Latty, Carey Luce and Sam and Sara Hargreaves, plus singers and instrumentalists from the school. Limited places are available for delegates to stay on for this.
As with previous Prism events, this conference aims to envision and resource musicians and worship leaders, with seminars suitable for non-musical pastors or service leaders as well. Why not bring your whole team to catch the vision? From past experience, early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
